Magic Hour is the production company of award-winning writer, director and producer Gemma Lee, working in close creative partnership with writer, producer and actor Charlie Clausen. Magic Hour is a New South Wales-based production company making bold Australian stories for film and television, with international reach.
Magic Hour's debut feature Echoes, written by Clausen and developed with support from Screen Australia and Screen NSW, was selected for the Frontières International Co-Production Market at Fantasia International Film Festival. The film's proof-of-concept short, Echoes In Time, starring Maia Mitchell and Lincoln Younes and developed through Screen NSW's Fast Track initiative, is having its International Premiere at Fantasia International Film Festival in 2026.
Magic Hour is also developing the feature Anam Cara, selected for Screen NSW's Pathways initiative.
Clausen's series Phenomenon has been recently shortlisted for the Australian Writers' Guild Emerging Writers' Award.
Earlier projects include the short film The Wake, which won the SBS Award for Best Film at St Kilda Film Festival and was nominated for the Jury Prize at Tribeca Film Festival; Bedtime, which premiered at Fantasia International Film Festival; The Bride, winner of Best Script at St Kilda Film Festival; and the web series Lessons For Life, winner of Best Comedy Screenplay at the Webfest Asia Awards.
ECHOES IN TIME will have its International Premiere at Fantasia International Film Festival, July 2026.
